18th C antique oil painting of Louis XIV in period frame

Palatial  size 18th C oil painting of Louis XIV in a  magnificent  period  18 century frame

A large and impressive 18thC antique oil painting of Louis XIV (the sun king) in his coronation cosrume, after the original  by Hyacinthe Rigaud (1659-1743), painted in 1701; in a magnificent carved wood frame. The original measuring 9'2" x 6"3" is in the Louvre, Paris.  Even though he had a long history of painting royal portraiture in the late 17 and early 18 century, Rigaud 's  painting of Louis XIV which today hangs in the Louvre in Paris along with an identical t copy also requested by Louis XIV  now hanging at the Palace of Versailles is the artist's best known work. In fact he painted many copies of this his most famous painting. The exact number he produced remains in dispute despite leaving  a highly detailed catalogue of his work.   To these may be added the large number of copies in  his book of accounts,  plus many other paintings rediscovered since the accounts' publication in 1919. This painting may very well be one of them but it is hard to  establish with any degree of certainty without having it first examined by art experts.
